Documents for Download

This page will contain a number of documents relating to the 2012 CT1 recruitment process, which can be downloaded (free) by candidates and any other interested parties.

Documents will be added as and when they become available; many of these will follow the publication of the 2012 ACCS-AM and CMT person specifications.

To view/download original versions of the 2012 CT1 person specifications, please visit the DH medical specialty training website.

The ACCS-AM CT1 person specification can be found in the 'themed core specialties' section near the top of the page; the CMT person spec can be found in the 'medical specialties' table, about halfway down the page.

Information on short-list scores - including a graph showing score distribution in R1 - has been moved to a dedicated page on this website. Click here to visit the SL score page.

The 2012 CT1 applicants' guide has now been published, and is available from the left-hand menu (item #1).

This guide gives an overview of the 2012 CT1 recruitment process, giving advice and information on each stage, along with guidance on where to find more details if necessary.

For candidates who wish to use alternative evidence of their achievement of foundation competence, this list will provide guidance on whether certificate A or certificate B (see below) should be used.

If the supervisor completing the certificate on a candidate's behalf supervised that candidate in post(s) with acute medical responsibilities, certificate A shoud be used.

Whereas if the supervisor has experience of supervising a candidate in post(s) without acute medical responsibilities, then the candidate should use certificate B instead.

Review the list (item #2 in the left-hand downloads menu) to see which posts are and are not classed as having acute medical responsibilities.

For more information on demonstrating achievement of foundation competences, please see the eligibility page of this website.

See above (point 2).

This is a list of those specialties defined by the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) as medical specialties. To be eligible for CT1 posts, the level of experience a candidate must have in these specialties must be 18 months or less, anywhere in the world (excluding experience gained in foundation training).

This is the reference form which will be used by deaneries/UoAs to seek references for candidates in CT1 2012.

As noted elsewhere, deaneries/UoAs will most likely contact candidates' referees directly to request references; however, in some cases candidates may be requested to obtain references themselves and provide them to a deanery/UoA. In this event, this form is to be used.
