A major reconfiguration of acute services is underway in Greater Manchester as part of the 'Healthier Together' initiative. It is possible that the range of acute medical specialties provided at each Trust site will change during the course of the CMT training programme commencing August 2016. If this occurs, changes to the advertised tracks may need to be made to ensure all trainees have sufficient opportunity to obtain all their required CMT competences.
Health Education North West - Mersey and Health Education North West - North Western are one organisation within Health Education North West (HENW).
For core medical training and ACCS: acute medicine CT1 recruitment as of August 2016, HENW will act as a single region.
While HENW is a single region, there will continue to be two distinct training programmes; ie Mersey and North Western. More information on the two areas is given across the tabs on this page.
Applicants will be considered for all programmes within HENW (Mersey & North Western). While applicants are able to be considered for all programmes within HENW you will have the opportunity to preferences placements/rotations; this includes identifying placements/rotations you do and do not wish to accept.
There will be one interview centre for both Mersey and North Western, and applicants will book an interview slot through the on-line portal.
The team at North Western will be leading on recuitment (their details are provided at the top of this page). If you need to contact the team at Mersey please refer to the region contacts page.
